Program details

The Diabetes Education Program equips newly diagnosed children and caregivers with practical knowledge about insulin use, blood sugar monitoring, and safe daily routines.

Each workshop uses simple demonstrations and guided conversations so families can ask questions in a calm and supportive setting.

We focus on helping parents understand symptoms, routines, and emergency responses without overwhelming them with technical jargon.

Sessions are designed to turn anxiety into confidence by pairing medical information with everyday examples from home, school, and community life.

Through these workshops, children also learn how to speak up for their own needs and build self-care habits from an early age.

The program has become one of UDAI’s most trusted interventions because it blends clinical literacy with emotional reassurance.

Families leave with a clearer understanding of diabetes management and a stronger sense of control over the challenges ahead.

We regularly revisit key concepts so caregivers can internalize the skills and adapt them as their child grows.

The long-term goal is to create a stronger support circle around each family and reduce the fear that often follows a diagnosis.

By strengthening knowledge at the household level, the program creates healthier habits that extend into schools, clinics, and communities.
